We should study civics to see what our government was like in the past, learn from it, and try to make it better now.

I think it's important to learn civics in middle school. So we can learn more about our government and politicts and learn how to make things better in our government.

I agrre with Caleb and also think it is improtant because we need to learn more about our government and how the government opperates. It will also be probaly important in the future and now is the best time to learn about it.

I think that we should learn about civics in middle school because we could learn about our government in the past and today. Kids in middle school don't really think of civics and what it really is and how it affects them. I also think that it is vital to learn about civics in middle school because it could give us an idea of what we want to be in the future. You can never start to early!!

I also agree with Caleb and Evan. They make a good point.

I think we should study Civics to learn about the way our government works and changed from the way it was a long time ago.

I agree with Marley and Caleb.

I agree with everyone who already commented. But I also have my own opinions. I believe learning civics is beyond important simply because there are important things around the world that are happening, this second in our government, thats making history. Also, we should study civics now, in middle school because in the future, it will be handy to know all that stuff about the government, politics, econmical wise, etc. And to make us citizens for the future!

Malak A. said...

****Oops, to make use better citizens for the future!*****

I also agrre with Marley and Malak

I agree with everybody so far but I would like to add that civics can compare and contrast other countries. I also think we will learn about the past and present U.S.A and how it came to be.

I think we should study civics so we can learn about our government and country and to learn how to become better citizens. I feel this has to do with what we discussed in class; we have a great country that draws people from around the world to it! We need to learn about our government and how to become good citizens so we can keep our country great and make it even better. Also great commenting guys I agree with a lot of your opinions.

I agree with Malak, Maley, and Caleb. Learning Civics now will be helpful in to us in the future when we are on our own. Government is a very big thing in your life as you grow older and I think we should learn it now to understand what's coming for us then!

Marley B. said...

I agree with Rebekah and Zoe!!

Malak A. said...

I AGREE WITH EVERYONE! This is a great idea!

Zoe S. said...

I agree with Rebecca. I hope by the time we are adults the government isn't super messed up and crazy. Then we really will need knowledge of civics!

Caroline B. said...

I agree with Evan and Malak. It is important we learn civics at our age because of how much is going on in the world today. We need to know about civilization and where it started.

Zoe S. said...

Sorry about the mispelling of the name.

Zoe S. said...

Definitly I agree with everyone I am reading a lot of good opinions.

I agree with everyone about the importance of learning civics in middle school. Civics is a great way to learn who is representing our country and our state and how they are doing it. There are a lot of parts of the U.S. government that we will probably learn and how each of them operates.

Holley F. said...

I think that we should learn civics at this age so we can learn about whats going on now in our government and so we can learn about what has happened in our government in the past so we can make it better in the future

Carleigh P. said...

I think we should learn civics in school because we are the future and if we dont know about how our country is run or who helps represent us for worldwide debates we will make bad decisions for our country. Also in civics we will learn how governments are run which will let us have a better understanding on conflicts going on in other forein countries.

i agree with caleb, zoe, malak, and marley.

I think everyone has a good point. I also believe that civics should be learned so when the students of today will know about their country in the future. I also believe that a knowledge of government will help people understand the way their, and other countries work.

Evan M. said...

I agree with everybody and think Caroline mentioned something important when she said that we will be representing this country in a few years and need to know about it so that we will improve it.

Evan M. said...

Sorry, I meant Carleigh.

I believe we should study civics so we can undrestand the concept and history of the government, also culture and politics throughout the world. This is why I believe we should study civics.

Zoe S. said...

I agree with Caroline but do we really need to know how civilization started? Or just how the United States government and such began? Do cavemen starting a civilization really have to do with what we are trying to achieve in civics?

Jeremiah G. said...

I think civics would be good to learn because we can learn about the government that holds this country together.

Jeremiah G. said...

I agree with Holly, that we should learn civics at a young age so that we can pass the important information to our kids so they can learn early and make a better future.

Civics would help us understand the government so if we need to work for them, we understand it's history and it's function.

I agree with everyone that has commented. I believe that it is definitely important to study civics in middle school because we should know and understand how the government works and how the society would respond to their actions. Also, the citizens of America should know more about their country than the immigrants that come here from a different country for a better life. Plus, I am not an American citizen! At least I was born in SOUTH Korea...
Anyways, thats my opinion!

I agree with everybody. I also think we should study Civics so we can learn about the constitution, and how the government works, and laws. We should also learn about Civics to know about the world around us. Like Mr.Veliz said, "Everybody wants to live in the U.S. and the Americans take for granted our wonderful country."

Carleigh said...

I agree with everyone so far everyone has really good points

Caroline B. said...

Zoie, I think we should know about where it began so we can recognize the hard work people put into our country's development over time.

Hey! I'm from 4th Period but this is what I said, "I think middle school is a great time to start learning civics! Think about what would happen without it! Nobody would be aware of the importants events and debates going around the world that could actually change our lives. We even get a look about how our governments run and even some American History. With civics, we can learn about citizenship. Americans take for granted their rights and freedom. Why not learn more about it so we can make the right desicions in life?" Thanks for listening!!!!!!!!!

Michael C said...

we should also learn about civics in middle school because it teaches us about famous documents like the declaration of independence. Also, when you get older it can help you make better decisions and if you would like to work somewhere in the government you will have a better knowledge about how it is run.

J.C. said...

I agree with Evan,Kelsey, and everybody else. I think we should study civics because it will help us be a better citizen knowing what our goverment is like now, and in the past. This information will help us make a better tommorow for the U.S.

Sophia V. said...

In my opinion it is important to study civics so students can learn about our/other countries, and to see if they enjoy learning or being involved in it, So they can consider jobs involving government, politics, or even a civics teacher-as their career.

Kyle.BNT said...

GOOD POLITICIANS CAN POINT OUT MISTAKES IN OUR GOVERNMENT'S PAST AND HOPEFULLY BUILD THEIR IDEAS AROUND THEM. SO IF YOUR LOOKING FOR A CAREER IN GOVERNMENT PAY ATTENTION IN CIVICS!

Zoe S. said...

Caroline, do you mean how civilization started or how America started?

Kyle.BNT said...

and of course i agree with what everyone else said. Good job guys.

Lindsey R said...

So far, everybody has really good ideas, and I agree with everyone. We can also see how our government was/is like.
